More than a century of history
The background of the company is a fascinating family saga with a unique plot. The saga has been unfolding for more than a century and has reached the shores of opposite continents. It combines traditions and innovations.
The Raffaello Bettini company preserves the industrial heritage of the Oreste Cinelli hat factory, founded in 1886 in Signa, Tuscany. The factory turned the city into one of the largest producers of Tuscan and Italian hats. Oreste Cinelli's nephew, namely Raffaello Bettini, turned out to be an exceptional entrepreneur. He was a major factor in the city becoming one of the most important industrial centers in Tuscany at the time. Back in 1938, the Raffaello Bettini company was founded, specializing in the production of straw hats and bearing the name of its talented owner.
The company's story continues. After so many years, the business is developing successfully. The offered range of products has been expanded. The collection includes high-quality felt and knitted hats, knitted scarves, gloves. The production is exported to the main markets in Europe, Asia and the USA. The current owner is Giovanni Papini – grandson of Raffaello Bettini. Since 1977, his partner has been his wife Alessandra, part of the history of another famous hat factory in Sinha: Felice Marinesi & Co, founded in 1875.
